In response to the media report that “female colleague has been taken sneak shot”, claims of the Medical Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of National Defense are listed as follows:
1. In the afternoon of August 16th, 2018, an officer of the Bureau suspected that a pinhole camera has been installed under her seat, and then report to her supervisors; the Bureau immediately seek to the help of relevant units to implement administrative investigation, and upon the investigation of Shihlin Military Police at August 17th, the criminal of the case is verified as Discipline Inspection Officer Lieutenant Chien, and the case is bring to District Prosecutors Office for investigation.
2. Officer Chien has been transferred from the current position at August 20th, and the Bureau has held Punishment Committee to conduct lawful and severe punishment.
3. The victim female officer had officially filed legal proceeding, and the Bureau will seek the help of the Department of Legal Affairs to provide legal consulting and assistance.
4. The Bureau based on the principle of “no wrong accuse and pamper should be occurred”, will fully support the following judicial investigation and refer this case to improve legal and disciplinary education to avoid similar case occur in the future.
